Have you ever wanted to have us and thousands of lobster as friends? Well it’s your lucky day as we now have friendship packages available.

For just £5 a month you can make a real difference to the Hatchery by becoming a friend of the Hatchery, or if you would prefer to be a BEST friend, it’s just £10 per month.

Buy one set one free

Our Buy One, Free One (BOFO) scheme is a great way for you, your business and even your customers to support us in our conservation and education projects. By releasing our baby lobsters into the estuary we are making an important difference to our coastal waters and supporting marine life.

BOFO works by businesses making a small donation (e.g. 50p or a £1) to the hatchery for the sale of each lobster or lobster related goods. It’s a wonderful means to engage with our project, support our fragile ecosystem and spread our lobster passion.

Please be aware the lobster hatchery is only open as a soft play and bar area over the winter period and will not be able to supply any lobster hatchery tours until the spring time.

As you can imagine, running the Hatchery is a lot of work, but a job that we’re hugely proud to do.

Corporate Partnerships

The Thames Estuary Lobster Hatchery really needs your support in order to continue and advance our vital conservation, research and education work.  Our classroom promotes inclusion and equality of opportunity, with teaching resources to provide multi-sensory learning.    We are particularly keen to expand our inclusive employment scheme that we are developing with the Targeted Employment department of Essex County Council and promote the benefits of inclusive employment within the business community.   As part of the ongoing development another of our goals is to train people of all abilities in husbandry and management of marine livestock and regeneration by way of inclusive apprenticeship.
